EZChrom method reports don't persist between runs
I'm using OpenLab CDS EZChrom edition (revision A.04.09). When I run a single run, I have it layed out so I have my chromatograms and method report displayed. I get my retention times and concentrations of the gases of interest and all is great. However, if I choose to have my 490microGC run multiple times by selecting 'Perform Run every X…

MassHunter 4.5 for ICP-MS Database Limit
Hello, I am having problems when trying to use batch sizes above 200 samples in MassHunter for ICP-MS 4.5. I get a warning at method validation 'Number of sample lines in the batch may exceed boundary of database capacity (200 sample lines)' The instrument then aborts the batch at some point after 200 samples. Is there a way to increase this…
Hello Paul, i updated the tags to increase visibility. At this point I strongly suggest you contact your local technical support center to get further assistance for this as they may need some data from you to try and figure out what the problem could be. Contact Us | Agilent
Comparing Deconvolution Results from Different Applications
We are considering moving multiple systems from MSD Chemstation with DRS, AMDIS and NIST to something based on MassHunter. Has anyone compared the deconvolution results from these to MH Target Deconvolution or MH Unknowns Analysis or MH Qual ? We have done a few comparisons with a recurring result shown in the attachment. Any experiences…
Thank you tom_barrett The RT difference is clearer in AMDIS. There is an RT difference of 0.015+ min for the 2 deconvoluted components in AMDIS. I have tried smaller values than 25 in the past with limited success but I will try again on this file.

BFB Tune Report in MassHunter Quant
BFB Tune Evaluation is falling due to evaluation at the wrong retention time. If I evaluate the same data file in ChemStation it selects the correct peak and evaluation passes. Is there a way to manually select the evaluation window in the MassHunter Tune evaluation tab? Included is the evaluation of the same data using both softwares and the…

QQQ fault detected 1.2 ion body driver cannot maintain requested voltage
I am having some issues with our Agilent 7890A GC coupled with an Agilent 7000 QQQ MS. The system had been running very well for months and a few days ago we started receiving errors when we were running a sequence. After a few samples it read 'QQQ fault detected 1.2 ion body driver cannot maintain requested voltage'. In what case the error is…
Hello, I would check the source body for any contamination. I would also make sure that none of the wires for the source or heater are shorted/touching any component that they shouldn't be touching.
leak sensor
A student the other day asked me the principle of operation of the Agilent HPLC leak sensors. Any one know how they work.
Crosslab
When a leak occurs, the leak sensor is cooled by the solvent. This changes the resistance of the leak sensor which is sensed by the leak- sensor circuit on the mainboard.
OpenLab Report PDF Not Generating
We recently upgraded to a new OpenLab CDS instrument computer and software and are unable to automatically generate a report in a .pdf format. I have opted to generate both a .txt and .pdf report in the method configuration and the .txt is being generated, but the .pdf is not. The method is being run via the Walkup software. Any ideas as to why…
Hello, Another test that you can run to test the PDF generation is to print to the screen to see if a print preview window appears and, if so, if it is displayed in a separate report viewer window. If this is an issue with the PDF-XChange printer then the only steps that I know of to resolve it is to reinstall PDF-XChange. The installer can…
AMDIS and MassHunter

Agilent Remote Advisor Program

I'm a new MassHunter user and have used Chemstation w/ AMDIS and NIST in the past. I would like to incorporate AMDIS when using MH Qual program along with NIST. Is this possible? If so, could it be as simple as downloading AMDIS to use with the MH program?
