Kung Fu was an American television series created by Ed Spielman, and starring David Carradine as Kwai Chang Caine. The show was nominated for 2 Golden Globes. Kung Fu follows the adventures of a Shaolin monk named Kwai Chang Caine travelling through the Old West of the United States as the only weapon, using his skills in martial arts and inner strength of his philosophy of life. Kung Fu is an American period drama about a Shaolin monk who travels across the Old West of the United States in search of his half-brother. The series premiered as a regular series on the U.S. Network ABC after its film-length pilot aired on anthology program ABC Movie of the Week.

Kung Fu follows the adventures of a Shaolin monk named Kwai Chang Caine travelling through the Old West of the United States as the only weapon, using his skills in martial arts and inner strength of his philosophy of life. Its purpose was to find his half-brother, Danny Caine, and start a new family, as Kwai Chang had fled China after the authorities put a price on his head.
63 episodes of the series were filmed between 1972-1975, including the 90-minute TV pilot.
